Chris Laughton, Managing Director
Chris is responsible for the day to day running and direction of Crime and Fire’s business model. His role covers all major systems sales, customer relations and the business expansion. He is a qualified Emergency & Security Systems Engineer. Establishing the business in 1999 and joined by Pete and Craig in 2012, the three directors have taken the business to new heights. Married with two grown up children, Chris enjoys clay shooting, mountain biking and spending time with his granddaughter and family.
Craig Watts, Operations Director
Craig has been in the high security Industry for over twenty years and has held various senior positions within Thorn EMI Security, Bell Security, and Securitas. Following a spell as a self-employed electrical contractor. Joining Chris Laughton at Crime and Fire in 2012 as a partner along with Pete Rushforth, we continue to drive the business to new heights. I also enjoy balancing my time with my two children following football with my youngest son and working on a home restoration project.
Pete Rushforth, Commercial Director
Pete has been in the high security Industry for over thirty five years and has held various senior positions within Thorn EMI Security, Bell Security, Securitas and Synectics. Joining Chris Laughton at Crime and Fire in 2012 as a partner along with Craig Watts, the three directors have taken the business to new heights. Married with three grown up children, Pete enjoys golfing, classic car restoration, walking and real ale!
Steve Bailes, Business Development Manager
Steve joined Crime and Fire Defence Systems in 2018 to develop business and assist as a Security fencing specialist. With thirty years of expertise within the High Security Fencing manufactures, Betafence, Lochrin Bain and Zaun, then gaining expertise in the Electric Pulse fencing and Access control technology with Gallagher Security Europe. Steve has other specialist skills in Shotokan Karate with successful World Championships and now teaching to the community passing on his knowledge.
Chris Catchpole, Commercial Sales Manager
Chris joined CFDS in 2018 initially as a project manager but quickly with his contacts within the industry has moved into his sales role with rapid success and has formed partnerships with local councils developing public space CCTV. With 22 years experience in the industry working with many suppliers Chris can not only design the project but can project manage to PRINCE 2 level. Currently crime and fire in direct partnership with a local council are building one of the UK’s largest control rooms. Chris enjoys golf, long walks in the forest and has studied every martial art. He also loves football and watching movies!!
Jack Storer, Customer Services Manager
Joining the business in 2017 from Kings Security, Jack started in an office support role, running the ISO audits and supporting in project documentation before taking up his current role. As the Customer Services Manager Jack is responsible for managing the service and maintenance commitments of Crime and Fire. This includes all engineer scheduling, paperwork, reporting, pricing and client engagement. Jack has 8 years’ experience in the industry starting at a commercial ARC before progressing through the channels into Administration then Business Development. His out of work interests include hiking, videogames and frequenting some of the UK’s many Rock & Metal concerts.
